Spend 10 to 11 hours with guide Jimmy exploring Latvia beyond Riga. Walk the Kemeri Bog Boardwalk, see Jurmala’s wooden houses, visit Kuldiga’s waterfall and old town, stop at a quiet Baltic beach, and enjoy a Latvian meal. Pickup is offered, with groups capped at 12 people.

“My tour with Jimmy was fantastic. The best way for me to describe my experience, is that it felt personal. It felt like I was visiting my family in another country for the first time, and Jimmy was like my long lost cousin who hadn’t seen me since we were kids and cleared his schedule to entertain me (perhaps because his mother told him he had to 😂). The extra effort he put into not just the tour but in connecting with me on a personal level and making me feel at ease as truly wonderful. It felt as though we had known each other for years and he certainly…”

Riga City Canal & Daugava River Premium Boat Tour with Audioguide

5.Riga City Canal & Daugava River Premium Boat Tour with Audioguide

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 8 reviews · 1 hour (approx.) · from $20

Ride a quiet historic wooden boat from Bastejkalna Park through Riga’s canal and onto the Daugava River. Bring your phone and headphones for the audio guide, then watch for the Freedom Monument, Old Town, Riga Castle, Kipsala, and the National Library.

“Truly boring. The canals were interesting except all the buildings are above you on each side. Only when you get to the Open water of the river can you really see the dimensions of the city. The whole tour is based on an audio recording which has the speakers near the front of the very small electric boat, which is particularly hard to hear. Unless the boat and the audio recording sync up at the right time, you're looking at stuff not at the right time. It was just incredibly boring. So if you like doing boring things, this is your thing.”

“Easy to book, the guys were very friendly and gave me everything I needed… a quick safety chat and equipment handed over, then some advice on some good routes. I went through the canal, then back along the river. Not many big boats so was easy to navigate and gave a brilliant new perspective of the city.”
